Targeted Practice in Schema Therapy – Practical Training for Psychologists and Psychotherapists
Targeted practice in schema therapy is a hands-on training for psychologists and psychotherapists seeking to deepen their knowledge and reinforce key skills in schema therapy through deliberate practice. Designed for professionals already familiar with the basics of schema therapy—whether in training or preparing for certification—this program focuses on enhancing the ability to accurately observe a client’s state, recognize their modes and needs, and flexibly select appropriate interventions.

Duration: 20 hours of practice over 4 days

Format: Zoom sessions / pair and trio work

Schedule: November 3, 17; December 1, 15, Mondays, 09:00–14:00

Instructors: Natella Dubashidze

Certification/Accreditation: Certificate of completion provided upon mandatory attendance with camera on and active participation

The training is structured around the deliberate practice approach in schema therapy. The program includes brief demonstrations, role-playing exercises, small-group work, case discussions, and feedback. It consists of four thematic modules: establishing contact and schema-therapeutic understanding of the client; recognizing modes during sessions; limited reparenting and empathic confrontation; and behavioral change and skill integration. Practical sessions are not recorded.
