Foundations of Trauma Therapy with an Overview of the EMDR Approach
The advanced training course "Foundations of Trauma Therapy with an Overview of the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Approach" is an educational program designed for psychologists, psychotherapists, physicians, senior-year students, and other professionals in helping professions. The training aims to provide systematic knowledge and practical tools for working with the consequences of psychological trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, loss, acute stress reactions, and crisis states.

Participants will become familiar with evidence-based trauma therapy approaches (CBT, EMDR, Israeli protocols, stabilization techniques), learn about adapting methods for children and adolescents, and gain an overview of the use of innovative VR technologies in psychotherapeutic practice.

Duration: 3 months (180 academic hours / 6 ECTS credits)
Format: Zoom sessions, lectures, practical exercises, and independent work

Instructors: An international team of psychotherapists from Ukraine and Israel
Certification / Accreditation: Upon successful assessment, participants receive a certificate and a certificate of advanced training (180 BPR points for medical professionals). The program is registered in the BPR system of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine under No. 1020693. The training center emphasizes that the course is introductory and educational in nature, does not provide training for EMDR therapists, and does not grant the right to officially apply the full EMDR method.

Target Audience: Psychologists, psychotherapists, physicians, senior-year students, and professionals in the "person-to-person" field

The program includes theoretical and practical modules focused on distinguishing types of stress and traumatic disorders (ASD, PTSD, CPTSD), crisis intervention algorithms, and the application of the "MAASE" protocol. Attendees will master stabilization and body-oriented techniques, emotional self-regulation tools, the BASIC Ph model, and the "Safe Place" exercise.

As part of the EMDR method overview, the course covers the AIP model, the 8 phases of therapy, principles of bilateral stimulation, VOC and SUD scales, as well as the conceptual integration of EMDR elements with CBT, art therapy, and VR technologies. Special attention is given to working with childhood trauma, preventing secondary traumatization, and addressing professional burnout in specialists.
