Applying the model that each individual muscle - and muscle groups - corresponds to certain stages of child development, as well as certain functions of the Ego, the Bodynamic team has created two models that are used in psychotherapy: Bodynamic Character Structures and Bodynamic Ego Functions.

The main principle of Bodynamics is that man is a social being, driven by a deep desire for contact and connection with others, without loss of self-esteem. L. Marcher called it Connection: Bodynamic analysis always focuses on the interplay and underlying balance between Connection on the one hand and Virtue on the other. The Bodynamic system prioritizes making conscious choices in our interactions and in our ways of connecting, so as not to pay with our dignity for the right to have contact. We learn to establish and maintain a balance that includes deep contact with other people, and at the same time we honor our Personality while maintaining our Dignity.
